Believe it or not, there are people online that are willing to scam recruits for money and college coaches for exposure so it’s understandable that Northern Illinois’ Thomas Hammock was confused when a “prospect” named Patrick Flowers reached out regarding a recent scholarship offer.

Needless to say, there was some confusion from Coach Hammock.

The issue being Flowers isn’t an actual prospect, he’s just an account created for a virtual player from the NCAA 14 Football video game.

Flowers was offered by Northern Illinois on the video game, which led the following exchange on Twitter:

Once Coach Hammock understood what exactly was going on, he played along with the joke and offered up this comment.
