Former Auburn DL DaVonte Lambert went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft coming out of college.

However, he was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played there in 2016 and 2017 before he was out of the league.

Now, after 2 seasons of not playing in the NFL, Lambert is back, as the Carolina Panthers announced this week that they were signing the former Tiger. They broke down his career in the press release:

Lambert was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn in 2016 by Tampa Bay. He played in 11 games with five starts that season, tallying 14 tackles and one forced fumble. He spent the 2017 season on injured reserve with Tampa Bay and was then waived prior to the start of the 2018 season. He saw action this past spring with the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL.

Will Lambert’s XFL experience help him as he gives the NFL a shot again? We’ll find out as soon as the NFL offseason starts up again.
