2020 SEC football schedule: Media reacts to 2 additional opponents added to every schedule
The 2 additional opponents for every SEC football team were revealed Friday on the SEC Network. The conference will release the full 2020 schedule next week.
The conference previously announced that it would play a 10-game conference-only schedule for the season due to COVID-19 concerns. The SEC will begin preseason practice on August 17 and games are scheduled to start September 26 and scheduled to end with the SEC Championship Game on December 19.

So … adding two more preseason top 10ish teams to that kind of throws out the whole “strength of schedule” argument.
