As things currently stand, the Pac-12 and Big Ten will be the only Power 5 conferences not playing college football this fall. One Pac-12 coach thinks that won’t be the case for too long. Washington coach Jimmy Lake predicted that the SEC, ACC and Big 12 will also end up canceling their fall seasons.

“I believe all three other conferences are going to follow suit (canceling) in due time,” Lake said, per Ralph D. Russo of the Associated Press.

Lake, like Arkansas’ Sam Pittman, is a member of the group of coaches trying to navigate their first season as an FBS head coach during a pandemic. A long time defensive assistant, Lake was promoted from the Huskies defensive coordinator to head coach after Chris Petersen announced he was stepping down in December.

Like the Big Ten, the Pac-12 is eying a spring season for Washington and its other members.
