The unconventional college football season has presented an interesting situation for preseason rankings. The Associated Press announced that it will include Big Ten and Pac-12 teams in its preseason poll, but only rank teams playing in the fall once the fall season starts. CBS Sports is taking a different approach, trimming its preseason FBS 130 to 76 to reflect the teams playing in the fall season.

Clemson is CBS Sports’ preseason No. 1. Six SEC teams manage to make the top 10, with Alabama, Georgia and Florida all making the cut for the top 5. Removing the Big Ten and Pac-12 led to CBS Sports moving two SEC programs into its preseason Top 25. Tennessee comes in at No. 16 while Kentucky is No. 21.

Here’s where all 14 SEC teams are ranked among the 76 FBS teams playing this fall:

  • No. 2 – Alabama
  • No. 4 – Georgia
  • No. 5 – Florida
  • No. 6 – LSU
  • No. 8 – Auburn
  • No. 9 – Texas A&M
  • No. 16 – Tennessee
  • No. 21 – Kentucky
  • No. 30 – Ole Miss
  • No. 32 – Mississippi State
  • No. 34 – Missouri
  • No. 41 – South Carolina
  • No. 62 – Vanderbilt
  • No. 63 – Arkansas
