There are a few good games on the SEC’s Week 1 slate on Saturday, including Tennessee’s trip to Columbia to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The Vols will be looking to continue momentum from last year’s strong finish, while the Gamecocks will be looking to turn things around under new OC Mike Bobo and new starting QB Collin Hill.

Who will win? On Saturday morning’s edition of College GameDay, analyst Kirk Herbstreit said he’s going with the Vols (via 247Sports):

“And he’s going up against a team and program in Jeremy Pruitt that is building a foundation through recruiting and quite honestly, success,” Herbstreit said. “I don’t care who they’ve played. They’ve won their last six games. They’ve won seven of their last eight. Their fanbase is excited. These players are really buying into his philosophies.

“I really think this is a dangerous matchup for South Carolina because of the confidence in this team and Pruitt’s got a veteran quarterback in Jarrett Guarantano. So I like Tennessee in that matchup.”

Can the Vols pick up win No. 1 on the road? Or, will Will Muschamp’s squad defend its home turf? We’ll find out at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time when the Week 1 showdown kicks off on the SEC Network.
