The Air Raid has returned to the SEC: Social media reacts to first half of LSU-Mississippi State
Over the past few months, how SEC defenses will adjust to Mike Leach’s Air Raid offense has been a popular offseason topic among fans and media members.
On Saturday, the Air Raid officially returned to the SEC with Leach’s Mississippi State Bulldogs taking on the defending national champions, No. 6 LSU.
At the half, the Bulldogs lead the Tigers 17-14. MSU already has 303 total yards, with 292 coming in the passing game. Transfer QB KJ Costello has already thrown 36 passes, completing 21, including 2 touchdowns.
The Air Raid is the talk of social media through one half:
The Mike Leach Air Raid is fitting in just fine in the SEC. KJ Costello with his third TD of the half. Lofts this perfectly over the DB on mesh. pic.twitter.com/dH8C291cPs

Leach is a mastermind of the air raid. State is going to be dangerous for years to come with him at the helm

Why is LSU running man every play? Especially when the air raid primary play is the shallow cross?

Everybody who said the air raid can’t work in the SEC was an idiot the whole time bc it basically already has

The Air Raid is Air Raidin' y'all. 43-yd TD pass from KJ Costello to Osirus Mitchell. Costello now 19-31 for 270 yards and 2 TDs…IN THE SECOND QUARTER…holy crap.
And it's 17-14 State over LSU with 2:27 til half.
