Could we see a shakeup in the College Football Playoff rankings after this week?

Based on what Paul Finebaum shared during his most recent appearance on ESPN morning show Get Up, we certainly could see just that next week.

According to the ESPN and SEC Network host, the team ranked No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings better be careful as they go on the road.

During the program, Finebaum was asked if Notre Dame could potentially lose at North Carolina this weekend.

“Absolutely,” Finebaum answered during his appearance on the show. “Remember last year Clemson, the No. 1 team in the country went into this very same stadium and probably should have lost. You mention bad plays, Mack Brown had one of the worst two-point conversions I’ve ever seen.

“But Mack Brown has done a brilliant job of getting this team to a higher level. They’ve lost some strange games this year. North Carolina top into the top five, they blew a game at Florida State — which is inexplicable — they lost another game later to Virginia, but they are primed for this game. I think Notre Dame ought to be on major upset alert.”

The upcoming Notre Dame-North Carolina game is set to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday and will be televised nationally by ABC.
