Penn State was winless in 2020 – until the Nittany Lions played Michigan on Saturday. James Franklin’s squad improved to 1-5 on the year with a 27-17 win over UM. Jim Harbaugh’s squad, meanwhile, dropped to 2-4.

The fall from No. 16 in the preseason AP Top 25 to 2-4 (with one of those two wins coming over Rutgers in triple overtime) has many Michigan wanting to move on from Harbaugh.

It turns out, it’s not just the fans. One of the program’s more prominent alumni weighed in a three-word tweet.

ESPN NFL analyst Brian Griese tweeted, “Enough is enough!” in a post accompany an ESPN graphic of many unfavorable records for Harabaugh.

It’s a bit surprising to see Griese vocally criticizing Harbaugh considering they are both former Michigan quarterbacks. Griese led UM’s 1997 team that was named national champions by the Associated Press. (The Coaches Poll named Nebraska its 1997 national champion.)

Harbaugh played at Michigan from 1983-86. As head coach of his alma mater, he is now in his sixth season with a 49-22 overall record. Michigan’s only other five-loss season under Harbaugh came in 2017.

Harbaugh’s Wolverines still have games against Maryland and Ohio State remaining on the schedule. Harbaugh is 0-5 as a head coach in the OSU rivalry.
