Three SEC teams won New Year’s Six bowl games this past postseason. One college football analyst thinks they’ll all be back in the NY6 next postseason.

RJ Young of FOX shared his early NY6 predictions on Wednesday. Young has Alabama and Georgia making the College Football Playoff. In the predictions, Georgia would be taking on Ohio State in the Orange Bowl while Alabama and Oklahoma would face off in the Cotton Bowl.

The Sugar Bowl takes the SEC Champion or best-available conference team when the champ makes the CFP. Young thinks Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M team will make it back-to-back NY6 appearances with a trip to the Sugar Bowl taking on old rival Texas.

Young interestingly doesn’t have any SEC teams in the at-large bowls of the Peach Bowl (Iowa State vs. Clemson) and Fiesta Bowl (Coastal Carolina vs. North Carolina).

Just over a week after the national championship game, it’s rather early to be making bowl predictions, but his Alabama and Georgia predictions are safe bets based on recent history. Kirby Smart has taken the Bulldogs to four-straight NY6 bowls. Alabama’s NY6 streak was interrupted by last year’s trip to the Citrus Bowl, but the Crimson Tide has made the CFP more than any other SEC program.
