Auburn’s current recruiting class just lost a commit as Florida native Brian Dilworth announced his decision to decommit from Auburn on Thursday.

The Hollywood, Fla., native committed to Auburn during the spring of 2020 when the program was led by Gus Malzahn. Dilworth’s recruiter was Wesley McGriff, who left Auburn this offseason to join Dan Mullen’s Florida coaching staff.

In his decommitment note, Dilworth specifically thanked McGriff for giving him an opportunity to join the Auburn program. He also noted that Auburn would remain among his contenders but needed time to reevaluate his options before signing with his preferred school.

The Chaminade-Madonna Prep standout is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 45 cornerback recruit in the nation for the 2022 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The 6-foot, 175-pound Dilworth holds scholarship offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Miami, Minnesota, Penn State and Syracuse, among others.

Following this news, Auburn is down to two commitments for the 2022 recruiting cycle. Georgia quarterback Holden Geriner and Auburn defensive back Jarell Stinson are the program’s lone pledges for the current recruiting cycle.
