Former Notre Dame standout defender Louis Nix III has been reported missing by his mother, via Action News Jacksonville’s Ben Becker. The details on the missing reports case says, “On 02-23-21 at approximately 1000, the victim left his father’s residence (4111 Leonard Ct. W.) and has not returned. The victim is driving his 2014 gray, 4-door, Hyundai Azera, Florida tag JGFM41 similar to the picture above.”

Nix has been missing since February 23, according to his mother, as she fears he is in danger because this is unlike him to be gone for so long.

According to Becker, Nix’s mother added, “I called (on Monday) to see if he felt up to driving his brother to work. He didn’t feel up to it but he came (anyway), asked me what I was up to and told him (I) appreciate him, told me he loved me. (He) called me back to say his brother made it on time and he was going to take it easy.”

This former Notre Dame star and NFL Draft pick was also sadly shot in December while putting air into his tires and was rushed to the hospital. He spoke to everyone in a live video, but thankfully, he made it through it.

“I just got shot,” Nix said in the live video. “I was putting air in my tires. If I don’t make it, I really do love everybody. I can’t contact nobody right now. I love ya’ll, man. If I don’t make it, this is the only way I can tell all my family members. My phone is about to die.”

Nix was drafted by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He was a touted recruit and had a nice career for the Irish from 2010-13. He attended William M. Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida.
