ESPN used SP+ preseason ratings to predict what a 64-team college football tournament would look like.

The final result, of course, is rather predictable: Alabama vs. Clemson in the National Championship game.

But this bracket has some other quirks to it, including Iowa State in the Final Four. The Cyclones’ miraculous run to the Final Four includes an upset over Ohio State in the Elite Eight.

12 SEC teams qualified for the field of 64, and five of them made the Sweet 16. Two SEC teams made the Final Four, thanks to Alabama’s dominance and Georgia upsetting No. 1-seeded Oklahoma in the Elite Eight.

Ole Miss pulled off one of the biggest upsets in this experiment, defeating No. 3-seeded Wisconsin in the second round.

Here’s how SEC teams fared in this projection:

  • Alabama, No. 1 seed: Def. Clemson in National Championship
  • Georgia, No. 2 seed: Lost to Clemson in the Final Four
  • Florida, No. 3 seed: Lost to Georgia in the Elite Eight
  • Texas A&M, No. 3 seed: Lost to Alabama in the Elite Eight
  • Ole Miss, No. 6 seed: Lost to Iowa State in the Sweet 16
  • LSU, No. 7 seed: Lost to Georgia in the second round
  • Auburn, No. 7 seed: Lost to Boise State in the first round
  • Arkansas, No. 11 seed: Lost to Texas in the first round
  • Mississippi State, No. 11 seed: Lost to Michigan in the first round
  • Kentucky: No. 14 seed: Lost to Wisconsin in the first round
  • Tennessee, No. 15 seed: Lost to Georgia in the first round
  • Missouri, No. 15 seed: Lost to Miami in the first round

Vanderbilt and South Carolina did not make the field of 64.
