The winding road that is the college career of Antonio Alfano has taken another interesting turn.

After failing to catch on at Alabama and Colorado, Alfano is now headed to Independence Community College, which is most known for being featured by Netflix documentary show Last Chance U.

Regarded as the nation’s No. 1 strongside defensive end prospect when he arrived at Alabama out of New Jersey as a member of the Crimson Tide’s 2019 signing class, Alfano’s time in Tuscaloosa ended when he essentially quit the team and failed to report back to campus during the leadup to the 2019 season.

“He’s kind of disappeared a little bit,” Saban said during a press conference when asked about Alfano during Alabama’s 2019 training camp.

“Everyone makes mistakes,” Saban added, “I think you compound the problem when you don’t confront the mistakes you make and you create greater consequences for yourself.”

Following his departure from Alabama’s program, Alfano landed at Mel Tucker’s Colorado program. Tucker left soon after for Michigan State and Alfano was later suspended for a violation of team rules.

He made the decision to leave Colorado in March.

The former five-star prospect has yet to play a down in college football.
