Nate Oats has landed another big-time commitment from the transfer portal.

On Sunday, Furman transfer forward Noah Gurley tweeted his commitment to Alabama. Per Charlie Potter of 247Sports, Gurley chose the Crimson Tide over Florida, Auburn, Miami, Marquette and San Diego State.

This past season, as a redshirt junior, Gurley started all 25 games for Furman, averaging 15.4 points on 48.8 percent shooting plus 5.8 rebounds over 29.1 minutes per game, earning him second-team All-Southern Conference recognition. He is listed at 6-8, 210 pounds on his Furman bio.

Alabama hosted Furman this past season on Dec. 15, 2020. Gurley scored 15 points in 36 minutes, shooting 4-of-8 from the field, including 2-of-4 behind the three-point line, in an 83-80 loss to the Tide. On Feb. 19, 2019, Gurley had 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals over 31 minutes in an 81-73 loss at UA.

With the NCAA’s “free year” due to COVID, Gurley will have two years of eligibility remaining.

On Thursday, Alabama landed a commitment from Texas Tech transfer Nimari Burnett, a former McDonald’s All-American.
