The 2020 college football season was unlike any other in history.

COVID-19 reduced stadium (fan) capacity during games, and it also disrupted college football’s premier pregame show in College GameDay, among other things. GameDay still traveled to campuses; however, there were no fans present, the crew had a larger-than-normal desk and Lee Corso did the show from his house.

Corso’s location is changing in 2021, according to Awful Announcing, citing an ESPN source. He’ll return to traveling with the show and will do live broadcasts with his partners in crime Kirk Herbstreit, David Pollack, Desmond Howard and Rece Davis.

The legendary commentator, Corso, had a somewhat reduced role in 2020 due to it being broadcast live from his house in Lake Mary, Florida.

In recent history and with the addition of Pollack on the show, ESPN has given Corso more breaks in between commercial breaks. However, he’s always been on the desk for the opening and legendary headgear pick, and that will happen in 2021.

Corso, 86, is a key cog in College GameDay’s appeal. The show’s first stop in 2021 will be in Week 0 when North Carolina Central takes on Alcorn State on August 28.
