Clark Lea on Tuesday confirmed that RB Re’Mahn Davis is out for the season because of a toe injury that requires surgery.

Davis was Vanderbilt’s leading rusher and had 12 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown in the Commodores loss to Stanford on Saturday. Vanderbilt plays host to Georgia this week.

Davis first shared the news on Instagram late on Monday.

Here’s what Davis shared on Instagram:

“My time here at Vanderbilt has been spent putting in hard work both on and off of the field. That hard work has been shown this season but has not come without struggles. Unfortunately, my season has been cut short due to recent injuries requiring season ending surgery. With that being said, I am excited to support my teammates as they continue the season and look forward to their success. Luv y’all boys”
