Joe Lunardi has come out with his latest bracketology ahead of March Madness as he sees several SEC teams slipping as conference play heats up.

Lunardi, an ESPN analyst, sees Texas A&M, Arkansas and Mississippi State among his “last 4 out,” or among 69-72 seeds, and the Aggies are the first team out, he wrote.

That is one side of the picture of SEC men’s basketball, and the other side is Auburn is in play to receive the No. 1 overall seed, as Lunardi pits the Tigers against Gonzaga for that perch. Lunardi called the race a “virtual dead heat” and the Tigers ahead by an eyelash ahead of their big game against Kentucky on Saturday.

Lunardi’s seeds for the SEC teams shake out like this: Auburn (1), Kentucky (3), Alabama and Tennessee (5), Florida (11), with the Gators being among the last 4 four in. Lunardi wrote that 60 of the 68 bids are accounted for, which leaves 8 “up for grabs” among current bubble teams.

The notable games on Saturday among presumptive tournament teams are:

  • Kentucky at Auburn 1 p.m. (All times ET)
  • Vanderbilt at Florida 1 p.m.
  • LSU at Tennessee 6 p.m.
  • Missouri at Alabama 6 p.m.

Plenty of games are left on the schedule to decide how the NCAA Tournament will be set, and some of that clarity begins this weekend.
