College World Series 2022: Arkansas uses offensive explosion, dominant pitching to eliminate Auburn
It was all Arkansas during a College World Series elimination game at Charles Schwab Field Omaha on Tuesday, as the Razorbacks routed Auburn 11-1 to extend their season and send the Tigers home packing.
The Razorbacks jumped ahead 1-0 on a Peyton Stovall single that brought in Brayden Webb. They went on to tack on 3 more in the 3rd before blowing it open on a pair of 2-out hits in the 4th, starting with a 2-RBI double from Michael Turner that scored Webb and Stovall to make it 6-0.

One pitch later, Chris Lanzilli clobbered one into the left-field stands—a 416-footer, tied for the longest home run of the 2022 CWS thus far—to make it an 8-0 contest.

Turner added a run-scoring single in the 5th to make it 9-0. But that was more than enough to support an electric performance on the mound by Will McEntire, as the redshirt sophomore right-hander allowed just 1 run (a home run by Bobby Peirce in the 7th) and 3 hits through 7 innings while striking out 9 and walking just 1.
The Hogs added 2 more in the top of the 9th to extend the lead to 11-1.
The Razorbacks now move on to face Ole Miss on Wednesday. The Rebels are 2-0 in Omaha and already defeated the Razorbacks 13-5 on Monday, meaning the Rebels are 1 win away from the best-of-3 championship series against either Oklahoma or Texas A&M. Meanwhile, an Arkansas win on Wednesday forces a deciding contest on Thursday.
