5-star edge Keon Keeley has decommitted from Notre Dame.

The No. 1 rated edge in the country according to 247Sports committed to the Fighting Irish in June of 2021.

247Sports Andrew Ivins predicted Keeley to Alabama just before he announced the news Wednesday evening.

“I think Alabama is still in the driver’s seat for the No. 1 edge rusher in the class of 2023 (Keon Keeley).” Ivins said.

In addition to being the No. 1 edge prospect in the country for the Class of 2023, Keeley is also rated as the No. 7 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 2 player from the talent rich state of Florida.

Keeley posted this message to twitter announcing his decommitment:

Soon after his decommitment from Notre Dame, 247Sports Steve Wilfong and Tom Loy both submitted crystal balls for Keeley to land at Alabama.

The Crimson Tide currently own the No. 1 overall recruiting class for the Class of 2023. The addition of Keeley would widen the gap between the Tide and second place Texas by a considerable margin.

And let’s be honest, it just seems inevitable at this point.
