Big Blue Nation would like to forget that the Music City Bowl ever happened. Kentucky was solid on defense, but an embarrassing performance from the offense made it a lopsided Iowa victory by the score of 21-0.

The UK offense set a Music City Bowl record with 10 punts and spotted the Hawkeyes 14 points with a pair of pick-6s. UK finished with 185 yards of total offense (117 passing, 68 rushing) with a time of possession 34:17.

Without Will Levis, it was Destin Wade and Deuce Hogan at quarterback for the Cats. Wade was 16-of-30 for 98 yards and the 2 picks. Hogan was 6-of-7 for 19 yards. UK was also missing star running back Chris Rodriguez for the bowl game in Nashville.

Here’s what fans had to say about the offensive performance on social media:

It shouldn’t be too hard for Kentucky to turn the page to 2023 and move on from Saturday. Former NC State QB Devin Leary is transferring to Lexington. The Wildcats will have a new offensive coordinator in 2023, potentially Liam Coen who was on staff for UK’s 10-win 2021 season.
