When you put together a coaching staff like Nick Saban did at Alabama this year, it’s to be expected that several will leave for more prominent jobs in the offseason.

On Friday morning, 247Sports reported that offensive tackles/tight ends coach Mario Cristobal would join Willie Taggart’s Oregon staff as the co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.

Cristobal, who served as FIU’s head coach from 2007 to 2012, has been with the Crimson Tide since 2013 and has been responsible for some of the program’s best recruiting. The 2015 247Sports recruiter of the year has landed players like OL Jonah Williams, DB Minkah Fitzpatrick and WR Calvin Ridley, among others.

Though the Alabama program under Nick Saban sells itself to recruits, losing Cristobal will hurt. The Ducks are getting a great recruiter for Taggart’s staff in his first year in Eugene.
