Jim Harbaugh finally has his moment, and Michigan has its first national title since 1997.

On Monday, the Wolverines set the tone early with some explosive touchdowns against Washington. Then, Michigan cemented its legacy with a dominant fourth-quarter push in the 34-13 win.

Immediately after the victory, Harbaugh reflected on the falling confetti and a story that each tells:

“You watch this confetti come down, and there’s like thousands of confetti, it tells a story,” Harbaugh said. “There’s a story in every one of those pieces of confetti. Just so proud of our team.”

After that, ESPN’s Holly Rowe asked Harbaugh about the story his team told in its national title win over Washington. He said his team proved they’re “the last ones standing” with a perfect 15-0 season.

“15-0. Took on all-comers,” Harbaugh said. “Shoot, we’re the last ones standing. It’s just such a glorious feeling. I really don’t have any more words than that.”

The 2023 season was certainly an unpredictable one for the program with Harbaugh starting the season suspended for 3 games. He would eventually end the regular season with 3 more games suspended but returned as the Wolverines embarked on the postseason.

Now, the college football world will have to watch as Harbaugh and the Wolverines celebrate as the kings of the sport for the 2023 season.
