Michigan has reportedly received its first Notice of Allegations from the NCAA. While the attention during the season centered on the sign-stealing investigation into Jim Harbaugh’s staff, this notice centers on an earlier investigation.

According to Angelique Chengelis with The Detroit News, Michigan received a NOA regarding the NCAA’s investigation into 4 alleged Level II violations. That eventually led to a Level I allegation against Harbaugh for allegedly lying to and misleading NCAA investigators.

“Michigan has received a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA regarding its investigation into four alleged Level II violations that led to a Level I allegation against head football coach Jim Harbaugh for allegedly lying to and misleading investigators

“One of the allegations include meeting with two recruits during a COVID-19 recruiting dead period.”

This NOA relates to the allegations against Harbaugh stemming from an investigation following the 2023 season. However, it might not be the last NOA for the program in the coming days.

The NCAA has yet to weigh in on the sign-stealing investigation into Ann Arbor, though Harbaugh has already served a 3-game suspension from the B1G. We’ll see what the NCAA has to say about that matter down the road.
