Sideline props have become all the rage in college football in recent years. Pittsburgh, however, needs to work on its celebration for the next time it gets a turnover.

At least when it comes to Paris Ford getting an interception.

As you can see below, Deandre Jules, holding the backboard, didn’t have a great grip on it, as he let Ford’s slam hit him in the head on the way down.

Pittsburgh’s turnover basket may not be as popular as Miami’s turnover chain, but it’s a lot better than the old Tennessee trash can.

Pittsburgh Sports Now gave some context last season about how the prop came about following a turnover drought. With the Panthers finally breaking through with three turnovers, it was time for their idea to be unveiled. Each time the defense gets a turnover this year, they will all surround a mini basketball hoop and the man with the football will get a chance to show off his dunking abilities.

“We decided to do it as a defense, to bring some juice,” said Patrick Jones II while talking to the media. “Every time we get a turnover, you get to dunk it … Whoever gets the turnover.”

The Panthers had a 21-10 lead late in the game against Syracuse as they looked to try to improve to 2-0 on the season.
