Former Georgia RB Keith Marshall is already making an impression on the Washington Redskins staff, despite limited appearances on the practice field.

In his rookie recap from Redskins organized team activities, ESPN’s John Keim had this to report about Marshall:

He missed the past two weeks because of a hamstring injury, but the coaches were pleased with his showing before that point. They liked his cuts and his burst and view him as a good complement to the top two backs, Matt Jones and Chris Thompson.

Unfortunately, injuries are all too familiar for Marshall. He missed significant time in 2014 due to a knee injury and dealt with an ankle injury last season with Georgia. Despite his redshirt junior status due to the knee injury, Marshall chose to participate in UGA’s Senior Day ceremonies last fall. He finished with career rushing numbers of 1,379 yards and 12 touchdowns on 253 carries.

Washington selected Marshall in the seventh round of this year’s draft.
