Les Miles’ latest recruit comes from the pros – pro baseball that is.

After an unsuccessful stint in the minor leagues, former LSU baseball signee Zack Von Rosenberg has decided to come to Baton Rouge to walk on the Tigers football team.

As a 25-year old freshman, Von Rosenberg can expect plenty of jokes about being the old man of the squad. The last time he signed paperwork with LSU, 2009, many of his new teammates were in middle school.

The former Pittsburgh Pirates prospect (2009-2014) is 6-foot-5, 205 pounds and hasn’t settled on a gridiron position yet. According to The Advocate, Von Rosenberg is expected to try tight end, quarterback and punter.

Von Rosenberg cannot play baseball at LSU since he has signed a professional contract, but is allowed to use his eligibility in another sport such as football.
