With SEC conference play beginning this week, one could say that this could be either the most predictable or most unpredictable year. Can anyone beat Alabama? Just how good is Florida? How will Auburn look once they play ranked opponents? We will try to help dissect this season with our weekly power rankings.

13. Mississippi State (14-8, 0-0)

The Bulldogs barely survived their own tournament over the weekend. The biggest setback was a 3-1 loss to Furman. They take on North Alabama on Wednesday before heading to Gainesville for a series at No. 3 Florida beginning Saturday.

12. South Carolina (13-6, 0-0)

The Gamecocks split 2 games with No. 24 UCF en route to a 6-1 week. The bats have been alive when they needed to be, but that could all change this week when they host Michigan State on Tuesday afternoon and then open conference play at home against No. 18 Georgia.

11. Ole Miss (18-4, 0-0)

Ole Miss has the bye week from SEC play this week. The Rebels canceled their midweek tilt against Southern Miss on Tuesday and will host Stephen F. Austin for a 3-game series in Oxford this weekend.

10. Texas A&M (14-5, 0-0)

The Aggies had a tough weekend at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif. TAMU opened the weekend with wins against Weber State, LMU and Utah before dropping 2 to No. 5 UCLA and No. 23 Arizona State. This week, Texas State visits College Station on Wednesday before the Aggies head to No. 20 Auburn.

9. LSU (17-6, 0-0)

The No. 21 Tigers have been ranked in national polls for 113 consecutive weeks dating to 2014. LSU went 5-1 last week with a sweep of then-No. 21 Louisiana. The loss was to unranked Troy 5-4. Montana Fouts and No. 2 Alabama visits Tiger Park to open SEC play, not an easy opponent to open conference play.

8. Auburn (21-1, 0-0)

No. 19 Auburn beat then-No. 11 Texas and then dropped a 9-0, 5-inning loss to then-No. 3 UCLA in the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational in February. Outside of those opponents, the Tigers have rolled to victory easily against everybody else. This past weekend, they were a perfect 6-0 and outscored their opponents by a combined 47-5. Auburn postponed their midweek game against Alabama State and hosts Texas A&M at Jane B. Moore Field to open SEC play. Worth noting: 8 Tigers have hit 2 or more home runs already this season.

7. Georgia (19-2, 0-0)

Sophomore outfielder Jayda Kearney was named the Division I Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week on Tuesday and is the first Bulldog to earn the recognition since 2014. Kearney helped No. 18 UGA go 5-0 at the Bulldog Classic in Athens. The Bulldogs host Georgia State on Wednesday before traveling to South Carolina to play the Gamecocks.

6. Tennessee (16-6, 0-0)

No. 16 Tennessee went 6-0 last week and opened this week with a 9-1 victory over Austin Peay on Tuesday before traveling to open SEC play at No. 10 Missouri. The Lady Vols have faced 7 ranked opponents this season and are set for what could be the most exciting series this weekend.

5. Kentucky (16-2, 0-0)

The No. 14 Wildcats hosted No. 19 Michigan, Drake and Kent State at the John Cropp Classic in Lexington last weekend. Kentucky split a pair with the Wolverines to hold steady in the national rankings. UK hosts the 2022 Bluegrass Classic and will face Ohio, Buffalo and Valparaiso.

4. Missouri (16-4, 0-0)

No. 10 Missouri is a force to be reckoned with in 2022. The Tigers’ early success has landed them in the Top 10 and they are getting stronger as the season continues on. Mizzou swept St. Thomas and Bradley in the Mizzou Tournament and will host No. 16 Tennessee to open conference play.

3. Arkansas (14-4, 0-0)

Bogle Park is buzzing with how good the Razorbacks are this season. No. 8 Arkansas recorded its 5th, 6th and 7th run-rule victories over the weekend against Kansas City, Missouri State and Kennesaw State at the Easton Razorback Rumble. Arkansas travels to Liberty on Thursday and then will head to Harrisonburg, Va., to play in the JMU Dukes Invitational against Lehigh, Maryland and James Madison.

2. Florida (21-1, 0-0)

The No. 3-ranked Gators dropped a midweek game to unranked Southern Miss 5-4 but rebounded with a solid weekend at the Bubly Invitational in Gainesville. Florida went 5-0 with wins over Georgia State, Coastal Carolina and Tennessee State and outscored their opponents 42-3. The opening weekend of conference play brings Mississippi State to Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium on Saturday.

1. Alabama (20-0, 0-0)

Alabama is 1 of 2 remaining undefeated teams in the Top 25 and is destined for a matchup against Oklahoma for a National Championship if they keep it up. The No. 2 Crimson Tide swept a highly-anticipated 2-game set against Texas 5-4 and 3-1 then beat Miami (Ohio) 4-2 and 10-2. Alabama canceled its Monday night matchup with Eastern Illinois but heads to Baton Rouge for a weekend series at No. 21 LSU on Friday.
