Alabama 5-star freshman CB sidelined with injury, per report

One of the top freshmen in Alabama’s 2026 class is currently sidelined due to an injury, according to a report.
Brett Greenberg and Alex Scarborough of Bama247 are reporting, per sources, that cornerback Jorden Edmonds suffered a lower-body injury in practice this week. The injury reportedly occurred before Thursday’s scrimmage. Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer met with the media following Thursday’s scrimmage, but did not reveal the injury to Edmonds.
The 247Sports report states that Edmonds is “expected to miss at least a few weeks.” Alabama is 3 weeks out from opening the 2026 season on Sept. 5 against East Carolina.

Edmonds enters his freshman season listed as measuring 6-3 and 175 pounds on Alabama’s 2026 roster. Out of Marietta (Georgia) Sprayberry High School, Edmonds was one of the most sought-after recruits in the 2026 recruiting class.
On the 247Sports Composite, Edmonds was rated 5-stars, the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia, No. 5 cornerback and No. 29 prospect overall in the Class of 2026. Edmonds collected scholarship offers from 43 schools. Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M are among the programs that showed interest in Edmonds.
Alabama has been dealing with the injury bug in fall camp. DeBoer revealed injuries at running back and wide receiver in his Thursday press conference.
