The 2023 NFL Draft will begin in Kansas City on Thursday, April 27, and will surely feature several SEC stars going in Round 1.

In fact, a few SEC players are in the mix to go in the top 10 this year, and of those guys, a couple could even go No. 1 overall.

On Tuesday, ESPN’s Todd McShay updated his Round 1 mock draft following the NFL Combine, and he had 10 SEC stars going in the first 31 picks. Check out his projections below:

  • No. 1 — Bryce Young, QB, Alabama — Indianapolis Colts
  • No. 3 — Will Anderson Jr., Edge, Alabama — Arizona Cardinals
  • No. 4 — Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida — Las Vegas Raiders
  • No. 8 — Nolan Smith, Edge, Georgia — Atlanta Falcons
  • No. 9 — Will Levis, QB, Kentucky — Carolina Panthers
  • No. 12 — Jalen Carter, DL, Georgia — Houston Texans
  • No. 13 — Broderick Jones, OL, Georgia — New York Jets
  • No. 17 — Emmanuel Forbes, CB, Mississippi State — Pittsburgh Steelers
  • No. 24 — Darnell Wright, OL, Tennessee — Jacksonville Jaguars
  • No. 31 — Derick Hall, Edge, Auburn — Kansas City Chiefs

Now that the Combine is over, Pro Days will be taking place around the country over the next few weeks. We’ll see if any SEC standouts can work their way into the Round 1 mix as April 27 draws ever closer.

And we’ll also see which SEC QB establishes himself as the best of the class.
