Herschel Walker, Darren McFadden and ... Alex Collins?
Entering Saturday, Alex Collins only needed 40 rushing yards to become just the 3rd SEC player to rush for 1,000 yards in his freshman, sophomore and junior campaigns.
You may have heard of the only other two players to accomplish that: Georgia’s Herschel Walker and another Razorback, Darren McFadden.
Collins topped 1,000 yards with a 4-yard rush in the third quarter today against the Rebels.

Both McFadden and Walker left their respective schools following their junior seasons.
To put the feat in perspective, even going for 1,000 rushing yards as a freshman and sophomore is rare. Only four other SEC players managed to do that: Georgia’s Knowshon Moreno, Auburn’s Michael Dyer, Alabama’s T.J. Yeldon and LSU’s Leonard Fournette. However, Moreno — who redshirted his freshman season — didn’t return for his junior season. Dyer transferred to Louisville and didn’t come close to hitting the mark in his junior or senior campaigns with the Cardinals. Yeldon fell short with 979 last season.
