A high school assistant coach in Texas who admitted to ordering a recent blindside attack on a referee has resigned, according to ESPN.

Mack Breed of John Jay High School (San Antonio) was expected to testify Thursday for his role in one of the most shocking events to ever occur in high school football.

MACK BREED 267Earlier this month, the two players involved appeared on Good Morning America to tell their side of the story for the first time, blaming Breed for the attack.

Breed is former player at Mizzou who played safety under Gary Pinkel from 2004-2008. According to the Kansas City Star, Breed played sparingly during his career as a reserve and graduated from Missouri in 2008 with a degree in nutrition and fitness.
