The Alabama-Tennessee matchup Saturday was expected to be a good one and it delivered in a big way.

The Volunteers opened up a 28-10 lead in the 2nd quarter but the Crimson Tide came roaring back.

Throughout the 2nd half it felt like the team with the ball last might win, and that’s the way it turned out.

It looked like Alabama might score the victory but Will Reichard missed a 50-yard FG with 15 seconds to play.

The miss set Tennessee up with excellent field position and a pair of Hendon Hooker completions created a 4o-yard field goal chance on the final play of the game for Chase McGrath, whose kick looked ugly but cleared the uprights to give the Vols an incredible 52-49 victory.

Given that it was a matchup of 2 of the top 6 teams in the country, it would easily rank as the game of the year to date, an assertion that college football fans across the country backed up on social media throughout the afternoon.
