Dickie V calls for college basketball to make a major change to 3-point line
This year, the NIT implemented some major changes, including wider lanes, four quarters instead of two halves and a longer three-point line.
The longer three-point line, in particular, is drawing a lot of conversation, as many think the NCAA as a whole should adopt the longer arc.
On Saturday night, ESPN analyst Dick Vitale tweeted his support for the move, saying he’d also like to see a wider lane in the near future:
The time has come to push the 3-point line back to the international distance and widen the lane. The game is becoming dominated too much by the 3-point shot.

Of course, moving the three-point line back won’t solve college basketball’s problems, as players are likely to continue shooting threes no matter the distance.
Perhaps someone should show Dickie V an NBA game, where the three-point shot has never been more popular than it is right now.
