Jaden Rashada announces transfer commitment to SEC team after season at Arizona State
Jaden Rashada is heading back to the SEC. Ahead of his sophomore season, Rashada has committed to transfer to Georgia.
Rashada was the 247Sports Composite’s No. 81 prospect and No. 7 quarterback for the 2023 recruiting class. The Pittsburg (California) standout signed with Florida, but did not enroll after a reported massive NIL deal fell through, the subject of an NCAA investigation.
Rashada landed at Arizona State. He played in just 3 games, allowing him to take a redshirt for the season. Rashada went 44-of-82 passing for 485 yards, 4 touchdowns and 3 interceptions for the Sun Devils.

Adding Rashada for 2025 and beyond
Georgia was linked to Rashada from the time he entered the transfer portal last week. Kirby Smart’s stated desire for a fourth scholarship quarterback was mentioned with UGA targeting Rashada. While depth is appreciated, Rashada’s transfer is about 2025 and beyond.
Carson Beck led Georgia to a 13-0 regular season in his first year as QB1. Beck’s starting status is set for 2024, as long as he remains healthy.
Plenty of Smart’s coaching peers would agree that four scholarship quarterbacks is ideal for depth. For all intents and purposes, though, the Bulldogs appeared to be fine for 2024 already.
Gunner Stockton, a former 4-star Composite recruit from 2022 (No. 7 QB, No. 124 overall), is entering his third season in the program. He played in 4 games last season, going 12-of-19 for 148 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. As a third-year QB, Stockton gives Georgia a capable backup familiar with the system.
Before the Rashada commitment, Ryan Puglisi looked set to be QB3 on the depth chart without competition. Puglisi is a true freshman early enrollee. As an Avon (Connecticut) Old Farms standout, Puglisi was rated 4-stars, the No. 10 quarterback and No. 113 prospect overall for 2024 on the 247Sports Composite.
Recently, UGA landed a verbal pledge from Class of 2025 QB Ryan Montgomery. Out of Findlay (Ohio), Montgomery is rated 4-stars, the No. 14 QB and No. 170 prospect overall on the Composite.
Things have a way of changing quickly in the transfer portal, but at the moment, commitments from Montgomery and Rashada set UGA up to have blue-chip quarterbacks from the 4 consecutive classes (2022-25) entering next season.

BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!! (I think)
Didn’t see this one coming; maybe Rashada has gone through an intensive attitude adjustment and he is ready to eat off the floor and grind.
Is there anybody else in college football who can recruit, mange a roster and develop like Kirby Smart?
Headache incoming in 3-2-1
Maybe, maybe not, young people grow and mature
I wonder why Rashada didn’t consider Auburn, probably would have played if not started there next season
I doubt Kirby made outlandish promises he can’t keep…. $
I doubt Arizona State did either.
Dawg@Heart
On a serious note, Kirby didn’t make outlandish promises to Jacob Eason, Justin Fields, Jamie Newman, J-TD or Vandagriff, I doubt he started with Rashada.
What Kirby promises – come to UGA and grind, pay your dues and you’ll get developed to your full potential. 3-star DB’s becoming Thorpe Winning, All-American, #1-round draft picks, kids like McConkey and Bennett getting drafted, Beck becoming a Heisman Trophy frontrunner, 3-Star OL and DL players becoming All-Americans and 1st round picks.
Most likely Rashada went to Arizona State and learned that all the other kids on scholarship are pretty good football players as well, he wasn’t in a league by himself, and that his Uncle-Joe-Brains stinks just like everybody else’s.
I’m really starting to like the idea of Stockton and Rashada battling it out to be the backup in 24 and the starter in 25.
LOL…What a dumpster fire the Gators are.
Lol we landed a much better QB both in terms of talent and maturity, you can keep Rashada all day long dummy
We’ll pick up Lagway next year when he TPs out after Napier gets canned…if we’re lucky he’ll bring the Heisman trophy with him that he wins at Florida this year…
Good job humperino, you come in with a smarter comment. Wishful thinking, but still smarter. Except of course for that Heismam but, that part is just dumb
It’s all about the comedic gold scale, palley…that bring his Heisman Trophy to Athens when he TPs in was pure platinum on the laugh out loud scale, surely you must admit…
yes
no
May he enjoy his year in Athens before transferring to a MAC school.
Florida Gator football is a joke. Georgia was never as bad as Florida is now.
Well beck is gone after this year so maybe Kirby can work wonders with this kid… he has a big ego but can’t say his is not talented ..
Happy to and Dj at uf but Rashada is talented for sure .
I am curious, what has he done that makes you think big ego? I thought thhe big falling out with the G8rs was about NIL $$$ promises and disagreements, not egos. What am I missing gf8115?
Let’s see whether Rashada sticks around more than one year if he loses the QB1 derby next spring. I’d be willing to bet that if Gunner beats him out, he’s in the TP again this time next year.
I certainly agree with you, whichever one loses QB1 next year will go get a few million somewhere else, unfortunately the nature of this new semi-pro football league div 1 college has become…I hate it.
Gunner Stockton will beat him out. Rashada goes to Arizona State, played in only 3 games & in only 3 games threw 3 picks. Not great stats. I’m surprised that Kirby even had interest in him. First-committed to Miami, then committed to Florida, then to Arizona State. Gotta really wonder about this kid’ maturity.
He just does not seem like Dawg material. Most Dawg recruits really wanted to play for Georgia.
What has he done to make you think he is talented is the big question
pop…Agreed 100%
Ssoooo….which current or future UGA QB or QBs transfers out now??
As long as the best one earns the starting job and stays at UGA it’s all good
All this talk about Rashada committing to UGA, let’s not forget about Jayden Maiava.
Until Rashada is attending classes and working out with the team his commitment and $10.00 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks
Interesting choice. No way he and Stockton are both still on the roster this time next season.
Has anybody seen Captain Obvious …
That’s a given in college football today – 2 highly rated QB’s who are within a year or two of each other and who could start for any number of top rated programs aren’t going to camp out on the same roster.
When it comes to UGA and QBs I’ve learned to have no expectations and make no predictions. I’m just along for the ride.
It is an exciting ride, I must admit!
Without a doubt!

Are you seriously trying to troll a bot?
Forgive him, when it comes to trolling he can’t help himself
I kind of figured I wouldn’t get a reply form AI Ivan
but I was curious to see if any real yahoo’s would comment
You have to admit, when I direct a “troll” comment at a bot (or crackhead Bulgarian) and the others are trolled – that is trolling at a Maestro level
You are a legend in your own mind. Congrats
Florida Gators- “ROTFLOAO”……”He’ll Be GONE b-4 2024 Ends” Youread it HERE 1ST !!!!!
I have no delusions about this kid. He has talent, and could be good, or he could eventually transfer. Stacking the QB room with as much talent as you can get, and then let the chips fall where they may, is the name of the game. Pretty sure Kirby is still in the hunt for another 5* talent, but maybe that has been settled.
Gunnar Stockton on transfer portal alert!!
Stockton is one play away from being the starting QB for a National Championship contending team.
Stockton isn’t going anywhere for the 2024 season.
Plus Stockton is a really good student, he’ll probably have his degree after the upcoming school year.
I didn’t say he was leaving. I said “On Alert”.
