The big question in Tuscaloosa following Jeremy Pruitt’s hiring at Tennessee is what the coach’s plans are with a Playoff run looming for the Crimson Tide? Will he finish out the season and coach the team leading up to and during the Playoff or will he leave immediately for Knoxville to start full-time for the Vols?

According to ESPN SEC insider Chris Low, Pruitt is expected to “pull double duty” in the coming weeks and coach for Alabama while recruiting for the Volunteers and building his future staff at Tennessee.

Low tweeted out this information late Wednesday night:

In previous seasons, Kirby Smart and Lane Kiffin have stayed on to coach for Playoff runs at Alabama after accepting head coaching positions while Tom Herman did the same for Ohio State back in 2014. This season is unique, however, as the NCAA has permitted an early signing period for prospects. That decision has triggered a ripple effect in college football, speeding up the coaching carousel as well as the recruiting process.
