Jon Rahm took a 6 on Hole 1 of the 2023 Masters Thursday. But the rest of his tournament proved it’s not about how you start, it’s about how you finish.

Four days, a few rain delays and an impressive final round following his rough first hole, Rahm donned the Green Jacket as winner of the 2023 Masters Tournament. Calm and collected despite a deficit entering Sunday, Rahm rallied to finish the final round at -12. Brooks Koepka and Phil Mickelson tied for 2nd at -8.

Rahm, a 4-time college All-American who golfed at Arizona State, won his first major championship in 2021 (U.S. Open). Now, the 28-year old has 2 majors under his belt.

And it was a wild final round. Rahm started Sunday trailing Brooks Koepka by 4 strokes. Heading into Hole 5, Rahm and Koepka were tied.

Mickelson entered the clubhouse with a score of -8 to beat. With Amen Corner still to play for Rahm and Koepka and the latter faltering, Mickelson held an outside shot at his 4th Green Jacket. Instead, Rahm put the finishing touches on a -3 final round to bury any doubt.

What a performance!
