Media react to first half of Auburn-Ole Miss
The SEC Week 5 slate is somewhat of a snoozer, but we have a good game between 2 offensive-minded teams in Auburn and Ole Miss.
The Auburn Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels are tied at halftime 14-14.
Coming into this game, Auburn needed quarterback Bo Nix to be calmer in the pocket and play the position more efficiently. He did that somewhat in the first half. Similarly, Ole Miss needed Matt Corral to limit turnovers, but he threw another one in the end zone in the first half.
Corral has, however, thrown for 1 touchdown and rushed for another one. Auburn’s Tank Bigsby and Nix have each rushed for a touchdown.
Auburn had a chance to grab the lead at halftime, but the drive ended with a Nix sack when he was pushed out of bounds.

So is Auburn going to use the last 3:30 of the half to set up a 45-yard FG???

Oh wow. They put Corral back in to throw.
Bad defense. Easy touchdown.
There’s no reason Owen should’ve been chasing Corral, or behind the line of scrimmage. Drop 8 when the passing guy comes in from the sideline.

That was a 16-play, 78-yard drive for Ole Miss.

Auburn took about two and a half minutes to reach midfield and it almost looks like Gus is playing for the field goal attempt.

Seth Williams just hurdled a man over the middle.
He and Bo convert another third-down.

Ole Miss’ run defense is more of a concept than reality.

Three of Bo Nix’s four completions have been quick passes to Anthony Schwartz behind the line of scrimmage.
