The season may be nearing the halfway point, but there has already been a plethora of big games and great performances. Many more will be forthcoming, but as of right now, here are the top team performances for the 2016 season:

1. NO. 1 ALABAMA 52, NO. 20 USC, 6
Date: Sept. 3
Star Player: WR ArDarius Stewart
Key Stat: Alabama held a huge advantage in total yards, 465-194.
Why: The Tide served notice early on that it is still the team to beat, not only in the SEC but in the entire college football world. After spotting the Trojans a 3-0 lead after one quarter of play, it was all Alabama. Stewart caught 4 passes for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns. Damien Harris rushed for 138 yards on only 9 carries, and Jalen Hurts and Blake Barnett shared duties at quarterback, combining for 218 passing yards and 3 touchdowns.

2. NO. 8 TEXAS A&M 45, NO. 9 TENNESSEE 38, 2OT
Date: Oct. 8
Star Player: RB Trayveon Williams
Key Stat: Tennessee committed seven turnovers.
Why: The Aggies survived the battle of undefeated teams but needed two overtime periods to do so after blowing a 28-7 lead. Williams, who fumbled away what could have been the game-sealing touchdown in regulation, still rushed for 217 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Trevor Knight threw for 239 yards and 2 touchdowns and also rushed for 110 yards and 3 touchdowns.

3. NO. 1 ALABAMA 48, NO. 19 OLE MISS, 43
Date: Sept. 17
Star Player: QB Jalen Hurts
Key Stat: Alabama scored three non-offensive touchdowns.
Why: Alabama broke a two-game skid to Ole Miss by scoring two defensive touchdowns and another on special teams. The Tide overcame an early 24-3 deficit, rolling up 31 second-half points. Hurts threw for 158 yards and rushed for another 146. He combined with RB Damien Harris to account for 290 rushing yards and offset the performance of Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly, who threw for 421 yards and 3 touchdowns – completing 26-of-40 passes with no interceptions.

 4. No. 17 TENNESSEE 45, VIRGINIA TECH 24
Date: Sept. 10
Star Player: QB Joshua Dobbs
Key Stat: The Vols scored 31 unanswered points to pull away after spotting Virginia Tech an early 14-0 lead.
Why: Dobbs accounted for 197 yards and 5 touchdowns in the Vols’ victory. He threw for three touchdowns, to three different receivers, and ran for two more as he rallied the troops from an early deficit. Jalen Reeves-Maybin led the defensive charge with 13 tackles, and after two late first-quarter touchdowns, the Vols kept the Hokies out of the end zone until a late fourth-quarter score.

 5. NO. 14 TENNESSEE 38, NO. 19 FLORIDA, 28
Date: Sept. 24
Star Player: QB Joshua Dobbs
Key Stat: Dobbs accounted for five second-half touchdowns to rally the Vols.
Why: Trailing 21-0, Tennessee came back in the second half. The Vols reeled off 38 unanswered points to break an 11-game losing streak to Florida. Dobbs threw for 319 yards and 4 touchdowns and rushed for another 80 yards and a score. He combined with Jalen Hurd to rush for a combined 175 yards. Jauan Jennings caught 3 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown while Josh Malone added 91 receiving yards and a score on 4 catches as the Vols erased a 21-3 halftime deficit with two touchdowns in the third quarter and three more in the fourth.

 6. NO. 10 TEXAS A&M 45, NO. 17 ARKANSAS 24
Date: Sept. 24
Star Player: QB Trevor Knight
Key Stat: Texas A&M had 366 yards rushing.
Why: The Aggies remained undefeated with a big win over a ranked Arkansas team. They used a 28-7 second-half advantage to pull away from a 17-17 tie at halftime. Knight threw for 225 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for another 157 yards and 2 more TDs. Trayveon Williams contributed with 153 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns.

 7. NO. 1 ALABAMA 49, NO. 16 ARKANSAS 30
Date: Oct. 8
Star Player: QB Jalen Hurts
Key Stat: Alabama held a big advantage in rushing yards, 264-73.
Why: The Tide used a balanced offense and five Razorbacks turnovers to hold off the Hogs. Alabama scored two defensive touchdowns to compliment the efforts of Hurts, who threw for 253 yards and 2 touchdowns in addition to rushing for two more scores.

 8. NO. 23 OLE MISS 45, NO. 12 GEORGIA 14
Date: Sept. 24
Star Player: QB Chad Kelly
Key Stat: Halftime score: Ole Miss 31, Georgia 0
Why: Unlike in their two losses, the Rebels did not blow a large early lead. Instead, Ole Miss broke a 10-game losing streak to Georgia by keeping its foot on the gas pedal, adding a pair of second-half touchdowns to win going away.

 9. ARKANSAS 41, NO. 15 TCU 38, 2 OT
Date: Sept. 10
Star Player: QB Austin Allen
Key Stat: Allen had 3 passing TDs and 1 rushing TD.
Why: Allen threw for 223 yards and then scored the game-winning touchdown in the second overtime on a 5-yard run. Allen drove the team down the field for a late touchdown, then caught the tying 2-point conversion on a trick pass to send the game into overtime. Arkansas let a 13-point, fourth-quarter lead slip away before rallying back to tie it in regulation.

 10. TEXAS A&M 31, NO. 16 UCLA 24 OT
Date: Sept. 3
Star Player: QB Trevor Knight
Key Stat: Texas A&M intercepted UCLA QB Josh Rosen three times.
Why: The Aggies prevailed in overtime after blowing a 15-point, fourth-quarter lead. Knight threw for 239 yards and a touchdown. The Aggies were seemingly in command, 24-9, late in the fourth quarter but had to play extra in order to come away with the victory; scoring in overtime while holding the Bruins out of the end zone.
