RJ Young believes the SEC set up its 2024 schedule to get the 2 best teams in the SEC Championship. But at the same time wondered why the best teams aren’t playing each other more often.

For example, the FOX Sports analyst asked rhetorically why the SEC wouldn’t want to have Oklahoma and Texas play Alabama and Georgia every other year.

“If you have the best conference in football, don’t you think we would like to see you play each other,” Young said. “Why would you hide that from us? … That’s what the sport is about, the sport is not about ducking and dodging and trying to build a schedule soft enough to get you undefeated into December.”

Young then pivoted to the college football fan and said the audience wants to see Ohio State star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. going against the Georgia defense every weekend if you can.

“And might I add that was one of the best games we watched all last season,” he said. “And they were scared of it.”

Young said he doesn’t want Alabama and Georgia to meet in the national championship, but instead meet during a 9-game league schedule.
