The first Saturday in October brought some memorable SEC matchups so far this season. Week 6 answered some questions while leaving more left to be answered in the coming weeks. This week’s ESPN’s latest power rankings remained at SEC 7 teams, but the order and the teams have changed.

The Georgia Bulldogs had the most decisive win of the season by dominating Kentucky 51-13. The Bulldogs took a 34-7 lead into halftime. Their top spot in the power rankings remains unchanged.

The Alabama Crimson Tide had another rough first-half performance against an SEC foe. The Tide went into halftime on the road versus Texas A&M 17-10. Alabama, however, outscored Texas A&M 16-3 in the second half to claim a 26-20 victory.

Ole Miss had its hands full at home with Arkansas before finishing with a 27-20 win. Tennessee rose two spots in ESPN’s power rankings despite being on bye-week due to the chaos that happened in week 6.

In one of the most surprising matchups of the week, the Missouri Tigers took a 25-17 lead over the LSU Tigers into halftime. LSU outscored Missouri 32-14 in the second half to win the 49-39 shootout. LSU was unranked in last week’s ESPN’s power rankings.

Texas A&M fell out of the power rankings this week after its loss to Alabama at home.
