The SEC has long been known as having some of the top party schools in the country, and a latest ranking from Barstool puts a fresh spin on the topic.

The ranking has 8 SEC schools among the top 50, led by Alabama at No. 1, including 4 in the top 20. Outside of the SEC, BYU being at No. 13 raised some eyebrows, as did Liberty at No. 29.

For those who have followed the party school rankings, The Princeton Review routinely has multiple SEC schools among the top 20 from around the country. Some of the metrics include:

  • Beer consumption
  • Liquor consumption
  • Drug consumption
  • Hours student spent outside of the classroom daily
  • The popularity of the fraternity and sorority scene on campus

However, some of the famous tailgate scenes, from The Grove, to Georgia’s North Campus, the Quad at Alabama, the Vol Navy and South Carolina’s Cockabooses to name a few are usually top of mind for these kinds of discussions.

Here are the Barstool rankings:

1. Alabama
5. Georgia
14. South Carolina
20. Ole Miss
35. Missouri
43. Florida
44. LSU
50. Kentucky
