At some point around the end of Tennessee’s shocking victory over Auburn, it appears that our preseason predictions spontaneously combusted. While it may have freaked us out a bit, it gives us a good excuse to start over.

So with Week 7 in the books, here’s where we see your favorite SEC squad finishing the regular season.

SEC West

Alabama: 12-0

Injuries spook us a little, but this unbeaten Alabama team scares us more.

Arkansas: 3-9

They’ll take care of Tulsa next week and we’ll keep them penciled in for one SEC win, maybe against Vanderbilt.

Auburn: 6-6

Mississippi and Liberty look like wins, but the rest look like losses right now.

LSU: 9-3

Yes, we were impressed. It’s still a fairly brutal schedule. It’s hard to predict anybody to beat Alabama, and Mississippi State or Texas A&M could beat the Tigers on a given day.

Mississippi: 6-6

South Carolina or Vandy could be the sixth win for these guys. Given the obstacles the Rebels face and the quality of their division, that’s not a small thing.

Mississippi State: 8-4

We’re leaving the Bulldogs here, calling for wins over Louisiana Tech, Arkansas, Mississippi, and one more.

Texas A&M: 9-3

From here, it looks like the Aggies finish the season having lost only to Alabama, Clemson, and either Mississippi State or LSU. That’s a heck of a first year for Jimbo Fisher.

SEC East

Florida: 10-2

It’s hard to see Missouri or South Carolina winning in Gainesville. Even if Georgia wins in the game at Jacksonville, Florida could end up factoring in the SEC East race.

Georgia: 11-1

Yes, the Bulldogs lost, but it was probably a way of ensuring that Florida and Kentucky get the Bulldogs’  A-game, or at least something much closer to it.

Kentucky: 9-3

Despite not playing, it was a tough week for Kentucky. Tennessee came to life, Vandy looked quite dangerous, and Missouri showed a relatively competent defense against Bama. Nothing comes easy in the SEC, but UK can still finish strong.

Missouri: 7-5

None of the remaining games look like gimmes, with the probable exception of Arkansas. But at the same time, there should still be seven wins out there for Mizzou.

South Carolina: 7-5

Carolina should be in pretty good shape with a bye week to prepare for Tennessee, and then facing Mississippi and FCS team Chattanooga. They’ll probably struggle against Florida and Clemson, and we’ll see about the status of a 12th game that might need to be made up.

Tennessee: 6-6

Tennessee went from a team that looked like they had no hope to win six games to a team that looked like they could very well find a way. Charlotte is a win, and if they can snag two from road games at South Carolina or Vandy and home games against Kentucky and Mizzou, they’ll make it. For now, that looks like a tall order, but it’s a lot more possible than it was a few weeks ago.

Vanderbilt: 4-8

Vandy has a slate of fairly winnable games for the rest of the season, but they’re not looking likely to nab three more wins, or even two, if push comes to shove.
