Last Saturday brought plenty of excitement and a few big surprises as everyone heads into the grind of conference play. Week 4 in the SEC will answer a ton of lingering questions: Is Kentucky for real? Can Texas A&M hang in with the best of the best? Should Arkansas still have a football program?

Let’s check in on all the fan bases and see how they are feeling heading into Week 4:

Alabama

Bama fans know they have a lot to work on after their gritty come from behind victory over Ole Miss last week. They weren’t even able to put their third string in until mid-way through the 3rd quarter. Luckily they have the rest of this season, plus the Playoff and championship games to tune up for next year.

Arkansas

Razorback fans are relieved that the preseason is finally over and they can now start using their real starting lineup and playbook as the regular season begins. That’s how it works right? No? The season is basically over already? Oh, OK then.

Auburn

A lot of people might think that Auburn fans would be down after their heartbreaking loss last week, but any true Auburn fan knows that their best seasons this decade have come after tough losses to LSU, so things are working out great (as long as you don’t watch the offense in the second half). The good news is they have a tune-up game Saturday against some 1-2 team called “Arkansas?” Not sure how it’s pronounced.

Florida

This is the best time of year to be a Gators football fan because you’ll get to beat Tennessee in a game that’s way more hyped than it should be, and then pretend that all of your massive problems are solved and that you’ll give Georgia a run for its money. Just let them enjoy this week, they don’t have much.

Georgia

Bulldog nation is now experiencing the downside of being one of the nation’s most powerful programs – everything is just so boring. It’s like the fan base found the Monkey’s Paw, wished to become the best team in the country, and then the fingers curl as they are forced to watch miserable blowout after blowout against overmatched teams. The season has been so lopsided so far this season that Bulldogs fans are actually trying to talk about how good Missouri is just so they can have some reason to be excited to watch a game on Saturday. It must be tough.

Kentucky

Kentucky fans are having to come to grips with the fact that they might actually be a good football team, and there isn’t anything in the Wildcats Fan manual on how to handle this. We’ll know the answer for sure after they play Mississippi State. But for now, be extra nice to any Kentucky fans in your life because this might be a real crisis.

LSU

Not even the drunkest of LSU fans believed the season would start the way it has. Not only did they get a memorable upset victory on Saturday, but they got to watch the Ohio State game that night and scour the sidelines for their next star QB. Tiger fans have spent most of this week removing their old “Fire Orgeron” demands from Twitter, Facebook, various truck stops, and wherever else people from Baton Rouge post their thoughts.

Mississippi State

The season couldn’t have started out any better for Mississippi State fans. They’ve gotten to sit back and laugh as all the other teams with first-year head coaches burn and crumble around them. This week they play Kentucky and deliver the primetime matchup of undefeated SEC teams that every wanted and expected.

Missouri

Missouri let Purdue throw for close to 600 yards last week, so Tigers fans know this game against Georgia could get … ugly. But remember, Missouri has been to more SEC championship games over the past five years than Georgia has. So when Jake Fromm passes for his eighth touchdown over a defense that looks like the one from Little Giants, that’s a good stat to pull out.

Ole Miss

Ole Miss fans are taking solace in the fact that they made Bama nervous for about a play and a half. Every fan in the stadium will be able to tell their grandkids of the time the Rebs took a 7-0 lead on Tua and the Crimson Tide. It will be a fun story to tell, as long as the grandkid doesn’t ask what bowl game the Rebs went to that year.

South Carolina

The Gamecocks had much bigger things than football to worry about this week, and everyone’s hearts go out to them. But if Gamecock fans want to find a small bright side amidst the recovery from Florence, at least they didn’t have to think about their football team for a week.

Tennessee

This week for Vols fans is the exact inverse to the week Gators fans have. Tennessee will play the Gators really tough and look pretty decent while doing so, and afterwards fans will think, “hey maybe we’re not quite as bad as everyone thought!” Only to find out that no, Florida is just much, much worse than everybody thought.

Texas A&M

Hey, anyone know if Alabama is supposed to be any good this year?

Vanderbilt

Vandy lost to Notre Dame on the road, but with it being a close game and Derek Mason continuing to own Brian Kelly days afterwards, it honestly feels like a win. The good thing for coach Mason is that he won’t have to go against another coach as hot headed and reckless as Kelly for a long, long time … oh never mind they have Muschamp this week.
