The investigation of Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer is expected to be completed within two weeks, the university released in a statement Sunday night.

It will rely on an outside law firm to investigate what Meyer did/didn’t know and did/didn’t do about the domestic abuse allegations into former assistant Zach Smith in 2015.

Former Ohio House Speaker Jo Ann Davidson is serving as the chair of the working group. She’s a former federal prosecutor and a former chairwoman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange.

“Ohio State is committed to a thorough and complete investigation,” said Jo Ann Davidson. “We look forward to sharing the results of this investigation and any action the university may take.”

The statement also said the action that will be taken about Meyer will be decided by the president of the university in consultation with the Board of Trustees.

Meyer was put on paid administrative leave last week when the university announced that it would investigate the 2015 allegations against Smith. Meyer released a statement last Friday evening, and Smith spoke out for the first time, too. Meyer admitted he lied to the media at Big Ten Media Days about not having any knowledge into the 2015 allegations.
