The SEC is dominating the 2017 recruiting class.

Not only does the conference boast 11 teams in 247Sports‘ top 25 team rankings, but the majority of the USA TODAY’s top prospects are headed somewhere down south.

Alabama leads the SEC with five All-USA players:

  • Najee Harris, RB, Antioch (Calif.)
  • Dylan Moses, LB, IMG Academy (Brandeton, Fla.)
  • Jerry Jeudy, WR, Deerfield Beach (Fla.)
  • Alex Leatherwood, OT, Booker T. Washington (Pensacola, Fla.)
  • Brandon Ruiz, K, Williams Field (Gilbert, Ariz.)

Georgia has four:

  • D’Andre Swift, RB, St. Joseph’s Prep (Philadelphia)
  • Jake Fromm, QB, Houston County (Warner Robbins, Ga.)
  • Richard LeCounte III, DB, Liberty County (Hinesville, Ga.)
  • Isaiah Wilson, OT, Poly Prep Country Day (Brooklyn, N.Y.)

Tennessee is getting a pair of top-quality gems:

  • Trey Smith, OL, University School of Jackson (Jackson, Tenn.)
  • Ty Chandler, RB, Montgomery Bell Academy (Nashville)

Auburn:

  • Calvin Ashley, OL, St. John’s College (Washington, D.C.)

LSU:

  • JaCoby Stevens, DB, Oakland (Murfreesboro, Tenn.)

Texas A&M:

  • Anthony Hines III, LB, Plano East (Plano, Texas)

As of today, these are the recruits on USA TODAY’s list that are currently committed to SEC programs.

There’s a real chance that the already impressive list continues to grow — with pending decisions from players such as five-star DT Marvin Wilson and five-star RB Cam Akers, among several others — as National Signing Day (Feb. 1) gets closer and closer.
