As the college football regular season reaches its final month, it’s time to start deciding which team has the best shot to win it all — and place your bets accordingly. The Vegas Sportsbook updated its odds, seen below, with Ohio State and Alabama the heavy favorites.

Expect Alabama’s odds to change one way or another after Saturday’s showdown with LSU.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS

  • Ohio State: 9/4
  • Alabama: 11/2
  • Baylor: 6/1
  • Clemson: 13/2
  • LSU: 10/1
  • Stanford: 10/1
  • Michigan State: 12/1
  • Notre Dame: 14/1
  • TCU: 15/1
  • Florida: 70/1
  • Ole Miss: 100/1
  • Texas A&M: 200/1
  • Mississippi St: 1000/1

LSU still seems way low. Nobody is suggesting beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa will be easy, but to not make the Tigers the national championship favorites out of the SEC seems a little backward. Even if Alabama beats the Tigers they will still need Ole Miss to lose to make the SEC Championship Game.

Bama certainly has a shot to win the title, but it’s difficult to say the Tide is the SEC’s best at this point. For reference, the current line on SEC West showdown is Alabama -6.

Vegas certainly isn’t impressed with Florida. The Gators have virtually assured themselves of a spot in the SEC Championship Game but sit at just 70/1 to win the national title.

Ole Miss, 4-1 in the SEC, controls its destiny. A win against LSU on Nov. 21 could put the Rebels in position to win the SEC West and make their first appearance to the SEC Championship.

The question is whether a two-loss SEC team is good enough to make the Playoff.
