It’s time to kick off the 2015 college football season. It’s also time to hear what every SEC coach has said going into his team’s season opener. Let the words — and games — begin.

Nick Saban, Alabama: “This team has obviously been a very, very strong running team but I think Paul has always been a guy that has been able to create balance with what he does,” Saban said about Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst and the Badgers, who take on the Crimson Tide Saturday night in both teams’ season opener.

Bret Bielema, Arkansas: “I think it’s a defense that’s built on a system, not a name. It’s the sum of 11 parts,” Bielema said about his defense, which goes into Saturday’s season opener against UTEP  having lost Trey Flowers, Darius Philon, Martrell Spaight and Tevin Mitchel to the NFL.

Gus Malzahn, Auburn: “We have the same approach and I like where our guys are at,” Malzahn said. “They’re not reading the press and predicting, all this stuff. They’re worried about this first opponent, and they’ve got a good mindset.” The Tigers kick off their season on Saturday at the Georgia Dome against old friend Bobby Petrino and the Louisville Cardinals.

Jim McElwain, Florida: “There is always some anxiety because you really aren’t sure, and yet the excitement is there because you have the opportunity to paint a picture of what we have moving forward,” McElwain said. “We have a lot of guys that we are looking forward to how they respond in a real game situation.” McElwain and the Gators open their season Saturday night against New Mexico State.

Mark Richt, Georgia: “He covered a lot of ground in a pretty short time as far as figuring things out, so you have to give him credit for that,” Richt said in reference to Virginia transfer Greyson Lambert, will start in Saturday’s season opener against Louisiana Monroe.

Mark Stoops, Kentucky: “Looking forward to the home opener (Saturday night) versus Louisiana Lafayette, Stoops said. “Feels like it’s been a long training camp. Feel good about our team and the work we did in two-a-days. Looking forward to going out there and compete against someone in a different colored uniform, so we’ll have a challenging game and looking forward to the opportunity here this week.”

Les Miles, LSU: “It is a foregone conclusion that Brandon Harris will start against McNeese (State),” Miles said about the Tigers’ season opener Saturday night. “He absolutely will take the first snap. I feel like both quarterbacks can play and both can improve.”

Hugh Freeze, Mississippi: “In a strange kind of way, I’m looking forward to seeing him get tackled,” Freeze said about Laquon Treadwell, who will play in Saturday’s season opener against Tennessee Martin, 10 months after suffering a gruesome broken leg and dislocated ankle that altered the Rebels’ 2014 season.

Dan Mullen, Mississippi State: “He had success as a freshman,” Mullen said of defensive lineman Chris Jones, who along with his teammates takes visits Southern Miss in Saturday night’s season opener. “When you do that, you have success as a freshman, you haven’t worked through an offseason program. You don’t understand the strain that you need to put in to continue to develop. So I think he kind of plateaued a little bit last year.”

Gary Pinkel, Missouri: “I think, like everybody else, we’re excited about getting going,” Pinkel said. “We’ve been hitting each other since spring football and a good portion of August. It’s exciting.” The Tigers open their season Saturday against Southeast Missouri State.

Steve Spurrier, South Carolina: “He’s very capable,” Spurrier said of quarterback Connor Mitch, who is making his first career college start against North Carolina. “We’re going to give him all the support we can. Hopefully, we will have some good plays and he gets off to a good start.”

Butch Jones, Tennessee: “I really think Josh has taken the next step in leadership,” Jones said about starting quarterback Joshua Dobbs, who will lead Tennessee into its season opener against Bowling Green. “You can see it. He’s out there. He’s in command. He has been a CEO of this camp, and I’ve been very proud of him. He’s been much more vocal than he’s been in the past. He’s holding individuals accountable. It starts with himself.”

Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M: “There’s things outside of football that I think everybody enjoys,” Sumlin said. “Different guys get credit for different things … I’ve got a life, too.” Sumlin, who was reacting to a suggestion that he is one of the coolest coaches in America — and his Aggies take on Arizona State in their opener Saturday night.

Derek Mason, Vanderbilt: “You’ll see it Thursday night, 7:01. Get ready,” Mason said regarding whether Johnny McCrary or Wade Freebeck will start against Western Kentucky in tonight’s season opener.
