Why Will Muschamp thinks the South Carolina offense could be as good as any in the near future
After just one game, South Carolina coach Will Muschamp is sold on freshman QB Jake Bentley.
The first-year coach is also high on another Gamecocks’ freshman, QB Brandon McIlwain.
That prompted Muschamp to make a bold proclamation on Thursday night, claiming the Gamecocks will have top production from the quarterback position in the coming years:
Muschamp: Future of the QB position is as bright as any team in the country with Bentley and McIlwain

Obviously, for a team that’s currently No. 127 (out of 128 FBS teams) in terms of scoring offense at 16.9 points per game, there’s a lot of work to do in the next few years to reach Muschamp’s lofty expectations.
