Sonny Dykes met with College GameDay to discuss his team’s upcoming matchup with Georgia in the National Championship.

He spoke on the emotions surrounding a title game appearance in his first year as TCU’s head coach.

”A lot of different emotions. The big thing we gotta do today is focus on today and doing our job,” Dykes said. “I think we’ll have a chance to reflect on all of this after the season but we got a lot of work in store today. Our guys are well prepared and we’re looking forward to playing.”

More importantly, Dykes talked about the status of star running back Kendre Miller.

”We’ll warm him up and see how he feels and if he feels good we’ll give it a go and see how he does,” Dykes said. “I love Kendre and what he’s meant to our program. We just want to make sure he’s healthy and can go full speed.”

Obviously, Dykes wants Miller to be out there and Miller wants the opportunity to compete. He ran for nearly 1400 yards and 17 touchdowns as one of the biggest reasons for the team’s success. All Dykes said he needs to see is comfort out of him in order to clear him.

Luckily, Emari Demercado was able to pick up for him last week with 150 yards, but Miller has been paramount to the sustained success of the Horned Frogs this season.
